DATA BREACH SA PCSO? Sen. Win Gatchalian Nanawagan Ng Mas Mahigpit Na Cybersecurity

Isang seryosong babala ang ibinigay ni Senator Win Gatchalian kaugnay ng umano’y data breach sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), na muling naglalantad sa kahinaan ng cybersecurity ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno.

Ayon kay Gatchalian, mahalagang paigtingin ang seguridad sa mga database ng gobyerno dahil patuloy na hinahamon ng mga cyberattack ang integridad ng mga impormasyong hawak ng mga ahensya.

“While the PCSO dismissed reports as fake news, the Department of Information and Communications Technology should not take these incidents lightly,” babala ng senador. “Vigilance and transparency should be maintained in addressing such threats.”

Nanawagan din si Gatchalian sa lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno na makipagtulungan sa DICT at sa National Privacy Commission (NPC) upang magsagawa ng regular na security audits, ipatupad ang mas mahigpit na data protection protocols, at palakasin ang cybersecurity training para sa mga empleyado.

“Cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated, and our defenses must evolve to keep pace with these threats,” dagdag niya.

Sa patuloy na pagdami ng cyberattacks, iginiit ni Gatchalian na kailangang maging mas agresibo ang pamahalaan sa pagpapatupad ng epektibong cybersecurity measures upang maprotektahan ang mga kritikal na impormasyon ng publiko.
