Pangasinan 4th District Representative and Chair of the Committee on Creative Industry and Performing Arts Christopher V.P. De Venecia is pushing for several legislative measures that will institutionalize the creative economy.

With the creation of the Special Committee on Creative Industry and Performing Arts (SCCIPA), De Venecia said there is a need to hasten the approval of the proposed Philippine Creative Industries Development Act to give immediate support to the targeted sectors. He also cited the significance of the Freelance Workers Protection Act which seeks to provide justice in terms of employment and compensation to creative workers. The bill also enumerates the illegal practices in freelancing.

Napakalawak nito.

The creative industry has been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Many became jobless when media productions decreased.  People are still adapting to new ways of delivering media, and the market is not enough to support creative workers.
