Senator Ronald Dela Rosa recorded the highest number of absences in the 20th Congress with 31 missed session days, followed by Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano with 14, based on official attendance records released Wednesday.
Shared by Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri to the media, the records showed that Dela Rosa attended 27 out of 58 session days, while Cayetano recorded 20.
Dela Rosa’s absences came after reports in November 2025 of a possible International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against him.
The report, covering the First Regular Session from July 28, 2025 to March 18, 2026, reflects senators’ attendance through roll calls, official missions, and recorded absences.
Meanwhile, several senators posted perfect attendance with zero absences, including Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Robin Padilla, and Joel Villanueva, each attending all 58 session days.
Other lawmakers also logged high attendance, including Senators Risa Hontiveros, Panfilo Lacson, Juan Miguel Zubiri, and Erwin Tulfo, who each recorded 56 present days.
Senator Camille Villar, meanwhile, recorded 16 absences, with the report noting periods of her maternity leave. (PNA)
