DOLE: Close To 60K Job Offers Available On Labor Day

Close to 60,000 jobs are up for grabs at the annual job fairs by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in connection with the celebration of Labor Day on May 1 nationwide.

According to the DOLE, different malls in seven cities in Metro Manila will be the venues of the event for job seekers.

These are SM Grand Central in Caloocan City, SM BF and SM City Sucat in Parañaque City; SM Southmall and Robinsons Place in Las Piñas; Vista Mall, Taguig City; SM City in Marikina City; San Andres Gym in City of Manila and QC Quadrangle in Quezon City.

Initial job fairs which is spearheaded by the DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) will be held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on April 30.

Other regions that will be hosting their own job fairs — the Cordillera Administrative Region, the venues will be SM City Baguio and Baguio Convention Center; the Ilocos Region, the employment fairs will be conducted at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; in Pangasinan, the venue will at the PESO Multipurpose Hall in Lingayen, Orbos Gym in Sta. Barbara and in Magic Mall, Urdaneta City.

Job fairs will also be held in the Cagayan Valley, particularly at SM City Tuguegarao; Robinsons Place, Santiago; and Municipal Covered Court, Reina Mercedes, Isabela.

In Central Luzon, SM City Marilao, Bulacan; SM City Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; SM City Pampanga, San Fernando City, Pampanga; SM City Olongapo Central, Olongapo City; and SM CIty San Jose del Monte, Bulacan will be the venue of the job fairs.

Job fairs will also be held at the Ynares Center, and Rizal Provincial Capitol Grounds for Calabarzon.

For Mimaropa, the City Mall in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro will be the venue for the May 1 event.

In the Bicol Region, the job fair will take place in Ayala Malls Legazpi, Albay.

Robinsons Iloilo will be the venue of the job fair for Western Visayas,

For Central Visayas, job fairs are set in Robinsons Galleria Cebu; and Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental; while the venue for Eastern Visayas will be at the Tacloban Convention Center, Tacloban City.

KCC Mall de Zamboanga will be hosting the job fair in Zamboanga Peninsula, while SM Downtown Premier in Cagayan de Oro City will be the venue for Northern Mindanao.

SM City Davao will be for the Davao Region while in Soccsksargen, the Kidapawan City Gymnasium, Cotabato City will be the host of the event; while the Almont Inland Hotel in Butuan City will host the Caraga job fair.

On the other hand, the DOLE advised job seekers to bring copies of basic pre-employment requirements, such as resume or curriculum vitae (in multiple copies), Certificate of Employment for those formerly employed, diploma, transcript of records and photocopy of training certificates.

Aside from the job opportunities, the DOLE will be setting up a one-stop-shop service of different government agencies, such as the Philippine Statistics Authority, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System, Home Development Mutual Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and Philippine Postal Corporation in a bid to assist applicants to complete their pre-employment requirements. (PNA)
