The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Field Office in Negros Oriental will be releasing additional financial assistance to beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers or TUPAD on Friday and in the coming days.

Rubie Cempron, Labor and Employment Officer III and Livelihood Focal Person of the DOLE-NOFO said Thursday in an interview that at least 8,000 TUPAD beneficiaries across the province will be receiving the assistance in this batch.

“This is part of the Labor Day commemoration where only 1,000 beneficiaries were given the cash aid at the Macias Sports Center due to limited logistics requirements,” Cempron said.

On Friday, the DOLE-NOFO will conduct payouts onsite in Guihulngan City, Canlaon City, and Vallehermoso in the first district.

Similar activities will be held on May 7 in Basay, Bayawan City, and Siaton in the third district while the rest will be in the coming weeks. Cempron could not yet give the breakdown of beneficiaries in each town or city.

Each will receive PHP 4,680 for a minimum of 10 days of labor. However, some may go beyond the minimum after working for more than 12 to 15 days. (PNA)
