President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved the promotion of nine Captains of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to the rank of Commodore.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the PCG said the nine Captains were recommended for promotion by Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, with their appointment papers signed by Duterte on Wednesday.
Of those promoted, eight are general line officers of the PCG—Captains Rommel A. Supangan, Antonio P. Gines, Vivien Jane E. Cay, Eduardo P. De Luna Jr., Glenda T. Pereyra, Marifem U. Isaac, Philipps Y. Soria, and Angel Z. Viliran.
The ninth person on the list is a technical line officer, Captain Rodolfo S. Ingel Jr.
“The oath-taking and breaking of personal flag ceremonies of the said PCG flag rank officers will ensue thereafter,” the PCG said.
According to their appointment papers, the officers will officially assume their new rank once they begin the performance of their duties and provide the DOTr Secretary’s Office and the Civil Service Commission with copies of their oath of office. (PNA)
