Outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte advised his successor to consider the good practices of the government in combatting the COVID-19, reiterating that there would be a possible health crisis in the future.
“There is no telling that one of these days, another vicious virus will visit the country or the world all over. At panibagong ano ito (And this will be new), far different from what we have now. Gusto ko lang malaman (I just want to know) what caused the numbers to go down because it would come in handy,” stated Duterte to the public in his pre-recorded speech.
The president uttered this statement after Health Secretary Francisci Doque was able to implement adequate COVID-19 response in the country following vaccination, natural immunity, and minimum public health protocols.
Duterte told that whoever wins will take charge of our health crisis, and should know the good practices of the current administration against the virus. He also appreciated the Filipinos for being disciplined which caused to decrease in the number of cases.
President Duterte reminded the public to access the vaccination drive of their local government, Duterte stated that he has fulfilled seeings that the majority of the Filipino population are almost fully vaccinated in his three months in office.
From March 1 to 7, the Department of Health (DOH) only reports 6,297 COVID cases. At present, there are about 64, 690,701 people in the country who are fully vaccinated.
