Retired military executive, who contributed to the EDSA Revolution, echoed the concerns of Senator Lacson in a coalition government with communists.
“While I was very hopeful to see the coalition of different political groups, I was greatly disappointed to see known communists, whose ultimate goal is to overthrow the government, in the coalition,” said Retired Philippine Air Force Col. Hector Tarrazona.
In his letter to former Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, Tarrazona emphasized disapproval of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) joining the coalition. He also discredited the claims of ex-Senator Trillanes that states that there are no communists who are campaigning for presidential candidate VP Leni Robredo.
“You may have pleased a few thousand communists but you will be losing the support of millions among the AFP and PNP personnel and their families, businessmen, farmers and other Filipinos who have been victims of their terrorism, atrocities, and revolutionary taxation,” Tarrazona added on his letter.
Senator Lacson in earlier statements raised concerns of people from armed groups seen in VP Leni’s campaigns. CPP, New People’s Army, and National Democratic Front have gained access to the events reiterating information from ex-NPA cadre “Ka Eric” Celiz.
For over 51 years, 60,000 people from military, civilians, police, and insurgents have been killed due to the conflict with CPP-NPA.
