Election Returns (ERs) from some voting areas in the Visayas are expected to arrive Wednesday here at the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) Command Center at the University of Santo Tomas campus.

PPCRV Legal Affairs Director and spokesperson Vann dela Cruz told the Philippine News Agency that the ERs will be brought by their partner courier service.

“As we understand, there will be no more electronic transmission of ERs because of the vote-counting machines that failed to connect to the internet,” he said.

But dela Cruz made it clear that this will not cause any disruption or irregularity, saying contingency measures are being undertaken.

As of 2:17 p.m., ERs from a total of 105,917 or 98.26 percent of clustered precincts were already counted.

Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the presidential race with 31,080,641 votes. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio dominated the vice presidential race with 31,534,207 votes.

No irregularity

Dela Cruz reiterated that they did not find any irregularity throughout the voting process.

“Whatever data we have now, we process it. We review it. Based on the advice of our technical experts, they did not find anything that we should be worried about,” he said.

About untoward incidents that happened during the election day, dela Cruz said they were aware of them and had presented reports and findings to other election watchdogs and the Commission on Elections.

During her recent interview with dzMM radio, reelectionist Senator Risa Hontiveros said investigating and resolving untoward incidents during the elections are part of the responsibility of the government and the Commission on Elections.

Hontiveros currently sits at the 11th spot in the senatorial race with 15,260,505 votes and a percentage of 3.57. (PNA)
