Senator Bong Go reiterated that the former administration’s advocacy on war on drugs should be continued amid trending issues on kidnapping and different crimes in the country.
According to Go, the fight against the war on drugs as well as criminality should be sustained and encouraged to reduce the crime rate bit-by-bit nationwide.
“Yan po ang dapat tingnan nang mabuti sa ngayon kung tumataas man po ang crime rate natin. Ang ibig kong sabihin, huwag ho nating sayangin ang naumpisahan po ni dating pangulong (Rodrigo) Duterte,” Go said during an ambush interview in Pasay City.
The Philippine National Police, according to their report, said that the crime went down by 73% from 2016 to 2021. Despite the criticisms, the war on drugs still benefits the public and about 1,223,634 drug suspects who surrender as of October 20, 2021.
“Huwag ho nating sayangin ‘yun, trabaho po ng ating pulis at ng ating militar to maintain peace and order. At kung ano ang pamamalakad po noon, sana po ay ipagpatuloy n’yo po and to make life comfortable to all Filipinos,” Go said.
With the present administration, Go is confident that the Marcos administration will continue the war on drugs of the former administration and added that the senator will continue his advocacy of promoting sports in the country.
“Ako naman po ay malaki po ang aking tiwala sa administrasyong Marcos na ipagpapatuloy po itong kampanyang ito,” Go said.
