The southwest monsoon (habagat) and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring rain showers over some areas in the country, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

The two weather systems will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales and Bataan.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate winds and moderate seas will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

Meanwhile, PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the bureau is monitoring a tropical depression (TD) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

This TD was last tracked 1,680 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.

“It is too far from the country, and is not affecting the weather,” Aurelio said. (PNA)
