‘HOW DARE YOU?’ Acop Sinagot Si Bato: ‘How Dare I? Responsibilidad Ko ‘To!’

Mariing pinabulaanan ni Antipolo City Second District Representative Romeo Acop ang alegasyon nina Senador Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa at dating chief presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo na ang imbestigasyon ng House of Representatives Quad Committee (quadcom) ay politikal at may layuning sirain ang dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ang kanyang mga kaalyado.

“We’re just doing our jobs. It’s about uncovering the truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be,” aniya. Sinabi ni Acop na ang kanilang layunin ay ilantad ang katotohanan at papanagutin ang dapat managot, hindi upang siraan ang sinuman.

Inilahad niya ang mga natuklasan ng quadcom matapos ang 13 na public hearing. Ayon sa mambabatas, ang giyera kontra droga ni Duterte ay ginamit bilang front ng isang “grand criminal enterprise” na pinangunahan umano ng mga pangunahing personalidad sa nakaraang administrasyon.

Ibinigay niya bilang halimbawa ang testimonya ng dating intelligence officer na si Colonel Eduardo Acierto, na nagturo sa dating pangulo, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, at dela Rosa bilang mga umano’y protektor ng drug network.

Tumanggi si dela Rosa sa mga akusasyon at hinamon si Acop na magkita sila sa altar ng simbahan para malaman kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo.

“How dare you, Mr. Acop?” aniya.

Hindi naman nagpatinag ang kongresista, na sumagot, “How dare I? I dare because it is my responsibility — to uncover the truth and ensure accountability.”

Pinuna rin ni Acop ang pahayag ni Panelo, na tinawag niyang walang batayan. Sinabi niyang hindi naman si Panelo kundi si Atty. Martin Delgra ang kumatawan kay Duterte sa mga hearing.
