Ikaw Muna (IM) Pilipinas Mindanao sector expressed their support to Manila Mayor and Presidential candidate Isko Moreno Domagoso, backing his candidacy seeking the highest post for the May 2022 national elections.
Leaders and supporters from different sectors across the whole region of Mindanao gathered on Tuesday, to launch IM Pilipinas Mindanao chapter and announced their vouch on Moreno’s presidential bid.
“This momentous event, as we launch IM Pilipinas in the whole region of Mindanao is our testament to campaign and vote for Yorme Isko Moreno Domagoso to be the next leader of our country in the next six years. We believe in his capacity to lead and unite this nation towards economic recovery,” stated Ryan Culima, IM Pilipinas Mindanao lead convenor.
The group emphasized Moreno’s efficiency in terms of leadership, political will, and his faith in God which led them to the decision to support his candidacy. Adding that just like the people of Mindanao, Filipinos deserve only the best leaders with the right skill set and determination to lead the nation.
IM Pilipinas Mindanao officials also expressed gratitude to their local leaders who have been actively delivering the needs and services to the people. “We are grateful to our local leaders led by Mayor Inday Sarah Duterte-Carpio for her dedication and service to the people of Davao,” Gerly Vallescas Adorador, the IM PIlipinas Davao convenor said.
“Mayor Sarah’s decision not to meddle in national politics is a statement of her concern and dedication for us, the people of Davao City. Her only concern is to serve and not to join in the politicking of any candidate at the national level, this makes her one of the best leaders of our land,” Adorador added, the same day Sara Duterte withdrew her candidacy for Davao City’s Mayoral bid.
Region 10 Convenor for IM Pilipinas Erquin Lim also expressed high hopes that the pressing issues in the region will be addressed under a Moreno administration. “We believe that Yorme Isko Moreno is the perfect leader that we need considering his decades-long experience in public service. His term as a local legislator, vice mayor and now as the local chief executive of the country’s capital city, Manila makes him very competent to lead the nation,” Lim said.
“Let us unite to realize our goal of inclusive growth and sustainable social progress. We need a compassionate leader like Isko Moreno who has the global competence, experience and most of all fear and love of God can make these things happen,” IM Pilipinas National Spokesperson Philip Piccio said, as he called for unity in electing the right leaders in next year’s national elections.
Meanwhile, Mayor Isko Moreno had expressed his gratitude for the group’s support and to the volunteers of IM Pilipinas Mindanao through a video message, “Maraming maraming salamat sa pagtitiwala ninyo,” the mayor said.
“Kailangan ko ng tulong ninyo, kailangan ko ng tulong ng ating mga kababayang Pilipino. Basta umasa kayo, may awa ang Diyos, sa tulong ninyo at tulong ng ating mga kababayan ngayon ay makakaramdam kayo ng gobyernong may tainga na handang makinig sa inyo at uunahin muna ang tao,” Moreno added thanking the leaders and members of IM Pilipinas and reminded his supporters to still convince others.
