Parts of Luzon and the Visayas will experience scattered rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), a weather forecaster said Wednesday.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Aurora.
“These areas will experience light to moderate, and at times heavy rains during thunderstorms. Landslides and flooding are possible,” said Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Panay Island has been experiencing heavy rains, he added.
The rest of Luzon, especially the northern part, will have fair weather. Isolated rains are also possible due to thunderstorms.
“Mindanao will have fair and sunny weather. One may think there is a tropical cyclone because of the strong winds or rains in the afternoon or evening. These are only caused by thunderstorms,” Estareja said.
Meanwhile, no gale warning is in effect.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago.
Estareja said no weather disturbance is expected in the next three days. (PNA)
