Former vice-president and veteran broadcaster Manuel Leuterio “Noli” de Castro Jr. withdrew his candidacy for the senatorial bid in the 2022 national and local elections on Wednesday, October 13.

In his statement regarding his withdrawal, he announced that there was a “change of plans” upon realizing that it is better for him to continue his profession as a journalist. Initially, De Castro said he was running for the senatorial race “to give the people a voice in the Senate”.

Meanwhile, de Castro thanked Isko Moreno and Aksyon Demokratiko for the “trust and help” rendered to him when he joined the party.

De Castro was supposed to seek a comeback in the Senate under the Aksyon Demokratiko led by Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Isko Moreno.
