Korean Province Execs To Explore 22 Cebu LGUs In Tourism Escapade

A delegation from the Korean province of Gangwon arrived in Cebu on Wednesday to explore arts, culture, and food in 22 southern localities during the province’s three-day “Suroy-Suroy Sugbo” scheduled from Nov. 30 to December. 2.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the group that welcomed the delegates, who arrived at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Wednesday morning and will join the southern heritage trail where Roman Catholic churches would take center stage in promoting local culture.

“(We have) 11 visitors. (They are) Gangwon province officials, tourism officials, and Yongpyong resort owners and executives,” Katherine Bethune, capitol’s information officer told the Philippine News Agency.

In a statement, the provincial capitol said Gangwon State Vice Governor Jeong Kwang Yeol led the Korean delegation.

Townsfolk in the southern tourism corridor will showcase their religious cultural heritage in different towns and cities as well as their delicacy, culture, arts, and heritage.

From Minglanilla, the delegates will ride tourist buses, hopping from San Fernando, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, to Boljoon on the first day.

On the second day, the guests will tour the towns of Oslob, Santander, Samboan, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Alegria, Badian, and Moalboal.

The guests will be treated to an excursion-like program that will end in Alcantara, Ronda, Dumanjug, and Barili, and the cities of Carcar, Naga, and Talisay.

Depending on the type of accommodation in this tour, each visitor will pay between PHP11,650 and PHP14,850, which covers meals, lodging, a tour kit, and accredited Department of Tourism tour guides. (PNA)
