The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) lauds the perseverance of every front liner and employees of La Union district hospitals who received the Integrated Management System (IMS) Certification, making La Union as the first first province in the history of the Philippines to have all its hospitals met three IMS standards.
The district hospitals, including Balaoan District Hospital, Bacnotan District Hospital, Caba District Hospital, Naguilian District Hospital, Rosario District Hospital, and La Union Medical Center, were thoroughly audited after passing all the standards, including ISO 9001:2015 or the Quality Management System; ISO 14001:2015 or the Environmental Management System; and ISO 45001:2018 or the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, according to a statement from its Public Information Office (PIO).
It emphasized that adherence to these standards was a sign of the staff providing customer-focused service in line with the province’s values.
The PIO added that the auditors highlighted several positive aspects, including the top management’s and staff’s commendable commitment to implementing IMS, the availability of the EMS Procedure, the commendable presentation of records and documents, and the competency of all employees who are valid PRC license holders.
It said, “These are all essential factors in obtaining the highest standards in the services relating to the systematic integrated management system of the medical and health sector in the country.”
The PIO said that the hospitals’ compliance, which was obvious in how they made sure that all rules and regulations were followed and the necessary standards were met, was also praised by the auditors. With this, the hospitals achieved IMS Certification and took top place in the entire country.
“This award is a manifestation of the diligence and persistence of the employees in contributing to the welfare of every Kaprobinsiaan,” it added.
Furthermore, the PIO said rooted in the initiative of immediate past Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David pledges her support for the district hospitals and their staff as they continue to work toward a better systematic integrated management system in the province with the help of all Kaprobinsiaans united centered on #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan.
The said certification was awarded by Rannie Bernardino, the lead editor of National Quality Assistance (NQA) Philippines during the PGLU Capitol Flag Ceremony on Oct. 3, 2022. The certification was received by Gov. Rafy, BalDH Chief Dr. Mark Anthony Tomboc, BDH Chief Dr. Zenserly Pagaduan, CDH Chief Dr. Gretchen Aromin, NDH Chief Dr. Dan William Dacanay, RDH Chief Dr. Michelle Arellano, and LUMC Chief Dr. Glenn Earnest Fonbuena, it emphasized.
