Partido Reporma presidential bet Ping Lacson along with his running mate Senate President Vicente Sotto III assured support to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) if elected in May 9 elections, this is after Lacson meet with Josh Mojica, a 17-year old entrepreneur behind the famous “kangkong” (water spinach) chip business.

“You can just imagine how we can replicate a success story like this” Lacson added, reiterating that there would be more success stories like Mojica if the national and local governments gave proper support.

Ping Lacson, who rendered more than 50 years in public service, told that under his and Senator Sotto’s watch, they will push to empower the MSMEs in the entire country with proper interventions, urging several agencies like the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to also thrown support to entrepreneurs.

Lacson shared that he was able to get in touch with Mojica through one of his staff and showed interest in the young entrepreneur’s products.

“Ang istorya niya (Mojica) nag-backyard siya, parang homemade lang ng kangkong chips. Napanood ng aking staff na naggagawa siya ng ganoon. So, sabi ko, pakuha ka ng sample. Eh nasarapan ‘yung mga staff ko,” Lacson stated.

The presidential aspirant tweeted about Mojica’s business last November 21 and expressed that he is proud of him. Lacson believed the life of Mojica only justified the strength of Filipino youth to succeed despite the challenges and trials of life.
