Mariing itinanggi ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na nagkakaroon ng “loyalty check” sa hanay ng militar at pulisya kasunod matapos siyang magsagawa ng mga command conferences. Aniya ang nasabing mga conferences ay hindi para tiyakin ang katapatan ng uniformed men sa kanyang administrasyon.

“Hindi ko naiintindihan ang term na ‘yan because I don’t know how you conduct a loyalty check. At least not when you call a command conference,” aniya sa isang panayam.

Ayon kay Marcos, walang ganitong klase ng proseso sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP). Aniya, ang mga speculations ay pawang “ingay” lamang at walang basehan.

Matatandaang pinangunahan kamakailan ng Pangulo ang National Peace and Order Council (NPOC) meeting sa Camp Crame, kasama ang mga pangunahing opisyal ng seguridad ng bansa. Tinalakay sa pulong ang:

  • preparasyon para sa 2025 midterm elections;
  • peace and order situation sa regional at pambansang antas; at
  • kampanya laban sa mga illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators.

Dumalo sa pulong sina Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, PNP chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil, at AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr.

Tiniyak din ni Marcos na bagamat may “ingay,” “quite stable” ang sitwasyon ng Pilipinas.
