A low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Central Luzon, Bicol Region, and the province of Quezon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the weather bureau said the LPA based on all available data is estimated to be 240 kilometers northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte as of 3 a.m.

PAGASA weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression and may dissipate in coming few days.

The LPA, however, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Central Luzon, Bicol Region, and Quezon, he added.

He said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will continue to experience fair weather with isolated rain showers.

Easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean are affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said.

Luzon will experience light to moderate winds blowing southeast to southwest with slight to moderate coastal waters, it added.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds heading east to southeast with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The minimum temperature will be 24.8°C and the maximum temperature will be 31.4°C. (PNA)
