Manila City Evacuates Close To 60 Families From Baseco

The Manila City government on Saturday evacuated at least 58 families from Baseco, Manila due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

Of the number, 88 are adults and 90 are minors. It also included four senior citizens and two pregnant women. They are temporarily taking refuge at the Baseco evacuation center and being assisted by the Manila Department of Social Welfare.

Early Saturday morning, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna suspended classes at all levels, in public and private schools, including face-to-face and online classes due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

The LGU also ordered all public cemeteries in the city closed due to the weather disturbance. (PNA)
