Manila City has started rolling out booster shots for children aged 12-17.

The city has designated 44 health centers and four malls for the vaccination of non-immunocompromised children.

Meanwhile, booster shots for immunocompromised children are available at Ospital ng Maynila, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Ospital ng Tondo, Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center, Sta. Ana Hospital, and Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital.

“Dahil sa unti-unting pagtaas ng bilang ng mga indibidwal na nag-positibo sa Covid-19, gayundin ng nalalapit na pagbubukas ng mga face-to-face classes sa mga eskwelahan, hinihikayat po natin ang lahat ng mga magulang na dalhin ang kanilang mga anak sa mga piling lugar ng bakunahan sa Maynila  (Due to the gradual increase in the number of individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19, as well as the imminent opening of face-to-face classes in schools, we encourage all parents to bring their children in designated vaccination sites in Manila),” Dr. Edgar Santos II, Manila Health Department Assistant to City Health Officer for Special Project said in a statement.

According to the Department of Health (DOH) National COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), the first booster of Pfizer-BioNTech will be available to the non-immunocompromised pediatric population five months after their second dose, regardless of their brand of their primary vaccine.

Meanwhile, immunocompromised adolescents may avail themselves of their first booster shot 28 days after their second dose.
