President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., according to Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, set to fly in Singapore after a fruitful visit to Indonesia.
She said the President’s meeting with the Indonesian President Joko Widodo was very productive and would progress rapidly in a short span of time.
“It was very productive, extremely so because the President did not expect that the talks between him and President Widodo would progress so rapidly in such a short time.” Cruz-Angeles said in a press briefing.
In a press statement, Marcos expressed his enthusiasm to work alongside Indonesia for the benefit of both country’s long-term relationship.
The President visited the Kalibata National Heroes Memorial Park on the second day of his state visit and offered flowers as a sign of respect for the Indonesian heroes.
Alongside him, first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos was also present during the state visit and joined Widodo and the latter’s wife, first lady Iriana Joko Widodo in a ceremonial tree planting.
Marcos and Widodo had a fruitful discussion regarding energy, transportation, agriculture, and defense.
“He is happy for the interest that they are showing in the Philippine economy. As you know, this is part of his vision for economic recovery, and he also happily reported to them the general outcome of his agreements or his talks with President Widodo.” Cruz-Angeles said.
