The local chief executive and a councilor here were tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Mayor Jose Santiago Jr., and Councilor Aldrin Sta. Ana admitted on Wednesday that they are both infected with the virus as shown by results released by the Joni Villanueva Molecular Laboratory.
“After informing me in recent days that I had an exposure to Covid-19 positive person, I immediately took swab test at the Joni Villanueva Molecular Laboratory and the result came out last night,” Santiago said in a statement.
The mayor asked all those he encountered during the recent days to “observe yourself and if possible quarantine yourself.”
“If you feel any symptoms, immediately notify the Barangay Health Officer of your barangay or call the Covid Hotline: 0997 601 0408 for assistance and so that you will be tested immediately,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sta. Ana said in a social media post that he is in good condition.
“I only need to finish two weeks of self-quarantine to make sure I do not infect others,” the councilor said.
The Bocaue municipal hall was temporarily closed this week for disinfection. (PNA)
