MOA Para Sa Yamang-Dagat Pirmado ni La Union Gov. Ortega-David

Isang kasunduan tungkol sa pangangalaga sa yamang-dagat ang pinirmahan kamakailan ni La Union Governor Rafy Ortega-David. 

“We have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Strengthening Good Governance and Multi-stakeholder Collaboration in Fishery Management,” anunsyo niya sa social media.

Paliwanag ni Ortega-David, sa pamamagitan ng nasabing MOA ay lilikha ng pinahusay na ecosystem at sustainable livelihood sa Fisheries Management Area 6 (FMA6) sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalaganap ng good governance at pagpapalakas ng multi-stakeholder participation.

Ang FMA6 ay isa sa 12 FMAs na tinukoy ng Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources bilang mga pangunahing lugar ng pangingisda batay sa stock boundary/range/distribution, structure ng fisheries at administrative subdivisions. Ito ay may science-based, participatory at transparent framework of governance at mekanismo para sa sustainable management ng mga pangisdaan sa mga nasabing lugar upang ihinto ang labis na pangingisda; labanan ang ilegal, walang regulasyon at hindi naiulat na pangingisda; at itaguyod ang seguridad sa pagkain at pagbawas ng kahirapan sa Pilipinas.

“The said project is sponsored by USAID (under the INSPIRE Project) and undertaken by Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc.,” dagdag ni Ortega-David.

Tiniyak din niya na ang lalawigan ng La Union ay patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan at nakikipagtulungan sa iba’t-ibang sektor para masiguro ang pangangalaga sa mga likas na yamang-dagat. 

“Truly, it is through #La UnionPROBINSYAnihan, or coming together as one province, that we can achieve our goals and dreams for our province,” pagdidiin ng gobernadora.
