Navotas will now allow walk-in registration for free vaccine shots, the city government announced on Tuesday.
Mayor Toby Tiangco said the walk-in system will be implemented in various sites after its successful implementation in Kaunlaran Village.
“Beginning 1 p.m. Tuesday, we allowed walk-in vaccination sites such as San Jose Academy, Tumana Health Center and Tanza Health Center,” he said in a Facebook post.
Registration booths will also be put up in vaccination centers.
Inoculation of the elderly is ongoing from 8 a.m. to noon time while persons with comorbidity will be accommodated 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Free pedicab rides are provided for senior citizens and persons with disabilities going to vaccination centers.
Tiangco encouraged residents to get vaccinated.
“Magpabakuna po tayo para mabigyan natin ng proteksyon ang ating sarili, makatulong tayo para maiwasan na ang pagkalat ng Covid-19 virus at matapos na ang pandemyang nagpapahirap sa ating lahat (Let’s get vaccinated so that we can protect ourselves, let’s help prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and end the pandemic that afflicts us all),” Tiangco said.
Registration is available via https://covax.navotas.gov.ph/.
