None of the 116 vaccinated employees of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) central office who tested positive for the coronavirus have severe cases, and most of the patients are without symptoms.
In an update Tuesday, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) deputy spokesperson Mark Cashean Timbal said even OCD administrator, Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad, is now asymptomatic.
“Wala pa po kaming (we haven’t recorded any) severe cases as of this time,” he said. “Majority pa rin po of our cases are asymptomatic. Usec Jalad is now asymptomatic,” Timbal said.
He said families and dependents of the employees who tested positive would undergo swab tests starting Tuesday.
The OCD central office, which had been closed for disinfection since Aug. 26 is now open.
Health authorities said fully vaccinated persons have 90 percent lower risk of getting severe disease and dying from Covid-19. (PNA)
