Approximately 200 students with disabilities from the 2nd District of Rizal received digital tablets to help meet their distance learning needs.
Rep. Fidel Nograles personally handed over the gadgets by Monday.
The lawmaker has revealed that he plans to expand and institutionalize a program to help students with disabilities cope with the different difficulties posed by distance learning.
The gadgets are only a start, he stated, as he stressed the need for sustained support.
He said that his plan would also seek strategic partnerships with the private sector and academia.
“We are envisioning putting in place a system that ensures easy access for children with disabilities and their families so that they are not left behind. This means establishing effective linkages, among others, so we can provide primary and supplementary learning resources at a subsidized rate, if not free,” Nograles added.
