P3.5-M Facility To Boost Healthcare Services In Surigao City

The healthcare services of the city government of Surigao gets a boost with the grant of PHP3.5-million state-of-the-art mobile X-ray system from Japan.

“The grant contract between the Consulate-General of Japan in Davao and the local government unit of Surigao City solidifies their commitment to improving medical facilities and patient care in the region,” the Public Information Office (PIO) of Surigao City said in a statement Wednesday.

The grant contract was signed in Davao City on Wednesday by Surigao City Mayor Pablo Yves Dumlao and Ishikawa Yoshihisa, the Consul-General of Japan in Davao.

“The significance of this donation is that it will make a substantial difference in the lives of the people of Surigao City,” Dumlao said.

Dumlao said the modern mobile X-ray system is expected to significantly enhance the city’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that residents have access to advanced diagnostic tools for timely and accurate medical assessments.

“This donation also underscores the enduring friendship between Japan and the Philippines and exemplifies Japan’s commitment to contributing to the well-being and development of communities in the region,” he added.

In a statement posted in its Facebook page on Wednesday, Japanese Consulate in Davao said: “The project will enable proper medical examination including respiratory diseases and internal organ diseases, and will benefit the underprivileged people in the city center as well as island residents would be able to access the X-ray machine through mobile health clinic.” (PNA)
