Itinalaga ng Malacañang si Maria Blanca Kim B. Lokin bilang bagong presidente at chief executive officer ng Philippine Pharma Procurement Inc. (PPPI).

Bilang dating Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) undersecretary at batikang media professional, dala ni Lokin ang malawak na karanasan upang isulong ang layunin ng PPPI na mapahusay ang accessibility ng healthcare sa bansa.

Kasama si dating Quezon City Representative Winston “Winnie” Castelo bilang bagong chairman ng PPPI Board, silang dalawa ay nanumpa kay dating Trade Secretary Fred Pascual noong Hulyo 19.

Nagpahayag naman ng tiwala ang DTI sa bagong pamunuan ng PPPI, at sinabi nito, “These appointments signify the administration’s commitment to improving the healthcare sector. By strengthening the PPPI, we aim to make medicines and medical supplies more affordable and accessible to all Filipinos.”

Dagdag pa nito, ang PPPI ay patuloy na gumagawa ng mga hakbang upang magbigay ng abot-kayang gamot, kabilang ang muling paglulunsad ng Botika Ng Bayan at ang pagpapakilala ng mga care pack para sa mga lugar na sinalanta ng kalamidad. Ang Central Medical Store ng ahensya ay nagresulta rin sa malaking pagtitipid para sa mga lokal na pamahalaan at ospital, na may ilang nag-ulat ng savings na umaabot hanggang 42 percent.

“The CMS has been a game-changer,” ayon sa Trade department. “We are confident that under the new leadership, the PPPI will continue to deliver on its mandate and contribute to the realization of the President’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda.”

Ang PPPI ay isang government-owned corporation na may tungkulin sa pagbili, pag-iimbak, at pamamahagi ng mga gamot at medical supplies sa buong bansa.
