The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas still supports the senatorial bid of reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos despite her withdrawal from the administration’s slate, her brother President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Monday.

Imee was included in the 12-person senatorial lineup of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition which the President unveiled on Thursday.

A day after, however, Imee announced she would not join the administration’s ticket.

“That’s fine… That’s her choice. I supposed it gives her a little bit of scope and freedom to make her own schedule to campaign the way that she would like to do,” Marcos told reporters in a media interview in Capas, Tarlac.

Marcos said they continue to support her sister’s reelection bid and still very welcome to join them in their campaign sorties.

“The Alyansa still behind her, we still continuing to support her and if down the road she chooses to join us in the campaign sorties, she’s very welcome,” the Chief Executive said.

The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas is composed of the President’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) and Nacionalista Party (NP).

Filing of certificate of candidacy for the May 2025 election starts on Oct. 1, and will run until Oct. 8. (PNA)
