Businessman Alejandro “Al” Tengco has been appointed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as the chairman and chief executive officer of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor).
Tengco succeeded Andrea Domingo, who was appointed by former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016.
His appointment was confirmed by Pagcor in a press release on Tuesday. The state-run gaming firm said Tengco as the new members of Pagcor Board of Directors was sworn into office by President Marcos in simple oathtaking ceremonies held recently.
Tengco is a former vice mayor of Malolos, Bulacan province, and the owner of Nationstar Development Corp.. His appointment followed Malacañang’s denial of claims that the President had chosen lawyer George Erwin Garcia to head the state-run gaming firm.
Juanito Saosa Jr., a lawyer, was also appointed by Marcos as president and chief operating officer of Pagcor.
Gilbert Cesar Remulla, Jose Maria Ortega, and Francis Democrito Concordia make up the new members of the Pagcor Board of Directors.
Remulla purportedly took his oath in Malacañan Palace before posting a picture of himself in a barong on his official Twitter account. He wrote in his tweet, ” And so the new chapter begins.”
Gilbert Cesar is the brother of Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla and Justice Secretary Crispin “Boying” Remulla.
