PBBM: Cebu Bus Rapid Transit Para Sa Maayos, Maaasahan At Ligtas Na Transport System

Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang groundbreaking ceremony ng proyektong Cebu Bus Rapid Transit (CBRT) na naglalayong ayusin ang mga kalsada sa Cebu City at magbigay ng mas mabilis at ligtas na transportasyon sa mga Pilipino.

Pinasalamatan din niya ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa pagsulong ng CBRT. Sinabi rin ni Marcos na ang CBRT ay ang unang bus rapid transit sa bansa. 

Nagsimula ang seremonya sa civil works ng apat na istasyon sa ilalim ng Package I ng proyekto, kung saan magtatayo ng 2.38 na kilometro ng segregated bus lane na may apat na bus station. Kasama rin ang isang 1.15 na kilometro na pedestrian improvement, na nagdurugtong ng CBRT system sa Port of Cebu. 

Binanggit ni Marcos na ang CBRT system na may tatlong packages ay dinisenyo upang magkaroon ng 83 na 12-meter buses sa opening year. Dagdag niya, inaasahan na ito ay dadami pa para magkaroon ng mas marami at mahabang mga bus sa lungsod.

“I trust it will also support economic development through travel time savings, environmental improvements, and reduction of accidents among residents and visitors of the city,” aniya.

Pinaalala rin ng pangulo sa DOTr na siguraduhin ang sapat na kabayaran sa mga property owner at maghanap ng paraan para maayos na ilipat ang mga informal settler family na maaapektuhan ng proyekto.

“Rest assured that the national government remains committed to improving economic activities in the many parts of our country through the introduction of innovative solutions to public transport and the improvement of mobility infrastructure, among others,” dagdag niya.
