President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is considering collaborating with the non-profit organization set up by former United Kingdom Prime Minister Anthony Charles Lynton Blair on several initiatives.

The planned collaboration with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change was discussed during Marcos’ meeting with Blair at Malacañan Palace in Manila on Tuesday, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a Facebook post.

“Discussions covered potential collaboration with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change on various initiatives,” the PCO said.

The PCO also shared several photos of Marcos holding a meeting with Blair.

Marcos and Blair first met in Sept. 2022 in New York City where they talked about the peace-building initiatives in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim in Mindanao.

They also discussed various ways to ensure food security, address climate change and boost trade.

In Oct. 2022, Blair also paid a courtesy call on Marcos at Malacañan to discuss a wide range of topics on bureaucracy and governance based on the best practices in developed countries.

Blair currently serves as executive chairperson of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, a non-profit organization that provides support to political leaders and governments to build open, inclusive and prosperous societies in a globalized world.

He founded the organization to help a country achieve transformational change by working with political leaders around the world. (PNA)
