President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. paid his respects to the late Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and former Senior Deputy Executive Secretary (SDES) Atty. Hubert Guevara on Monday evening in Antipolo City.

Marcos, along with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, visited the wake of Guevara.

Guevara died on March 29 (Good Friday) at the age of 56.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said the First Couple attended a mass and extended their condolences to the bereaved family and relatives.

”Former SDES Guevara will be remembered for his spirit, dedication, and exemplary service to the Filipino people. He will remain fondly in the memory of all who had the privilege of working with him and calling him a friend,’‘ the OP said in a statement on Good Friday.

After his stint in Malacañang, Guevara was appointed a commissioner of the SEC where he also served as director of the Compliance and Enforcement Department from 2004 to 2010. (PNA)
