MANILA – The Philippines is Destination of the Year in the 2023 TripZilla Travel Excellence Awards.
The online travel platform also awarded the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), an attached agency of the Department of Tourism in charge of marketing and promoting the country, the Sustainability Leader of the Year for Asia.
“From white-sand beaches and lush mountains to majestic heritage sites, the Philippines has a wide range of destinations that cater to every travel preference. Beyond its popular attractions, the archipelago has plenty of under-the-radar spots that are enough to keep visitors coming back for more,” according to TripZilla.
It said the TPB remains at the forefront in Asia in the preservation and conservation of natural attractions in light of a burgeoning tourism industry.
“Not only does Tourism Promotions Board Philippines ensure the longevity of natural wonders, but it also continuously showcases ways for both foreign and local tourists to embrace sustainable travel culture, spotlighting attractions and experiences that champion this important travel trend,” it said.
Now in its ninth year, TripZilla Awards “honors the finest travel brands for delivering the most brilliant experiences and propelling the industry to greater heights”.
More than a hundred travel brands were nominated for an award this year. (PNA)
