Many people view the young generation as a threat because of their strong force to stand up for beliefs. However, with the 2022 elections around the corner, it seems that everyone is hopeful for them and asks for their support. This hope is not lying because the youth numbers will speak for themselves.

The youth will play a crucial role in the coming election because they are more than enough to determine its outcomes. Their generation constitutes  of the country’s voting population, with several 32.7 million aging from 18 to 30.

In every election, young Filipinos are actively campaigning for the importance of voter education. They encourage everyone to register to attain the power to vote. The young generation amplifies the use of social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to educate everyone on the track records of every politician who is seeking government posts. A great number of registered youth voters will also rely on social media for their news. This is one of the reasons why running politicians have leveraged digital platforms to showcase their policies and hope that it will convince the young generation to support them. The youth generation is dominant in the digital realm, for they can easily navigate the information online and do the campaigning. The moment that the young voters spread the information online, it will take a more active stance on the national scheme.

Youth voters are considered as an investor of the future. We have always heard that the youth are the future of our nation. With the election coming, the youth still needs to prove that they are the future of this nation. The youth must take this election as an opportunity to speak for advocacies and take a stand on social issues. They must convince their fellow youth to fill out their ballots and dream that their almost incalculable presence will have a possible influence on the election results. The youth who has a substantial proportion of the voting population will play a huge role this coming election to elect a comprehensive and competitive leaders. Their vote is a power and must use it rightly.
