Todo-handa na ang Senado. Iniutos ni Senate President Francis Escudero ang pagbuo ng isang administrative support group para tiyakin ang maayos at epektibong proseso ng nalalapit na impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa isang pahayag nitong Huwebes, inihayag ni Escudero na nilagdaan na niya ang Special Order No. 2025-015, na naglalatag ng isang sistematikong suporta sa operasyon ng impeachment court.

“This Special Order is vital to ensure that the Senate, in its role as an Impeachment Court, operates smoothly and efficiently. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of justice and due process throughout the proceedings,” ayon kay Escudero.

Matibay Na Suporta Sa Impeachment Court

Sa ilalim ng nasabing kautusan, itinalaga ang Secretary of the Senate bilang Clerk ng Senado na uupong impeachment court. Siya ang mamamahala sa lahat ng administratibo at procedural na usapin, alinsunod sa Rules of Procedure on Impeachment Trials.

Binigyan din siya ng kapangyarihang maglabas ng administrative orders, directives, at guidelines upang tiyakin ang maayos na pag-usad ng paglilitis.

Samantala, ang Senate Secretariat ang pangunahing magbibigay ng legal, teknikal, administratibo, at seguridad na suporta sa Clerk of Court.

Sino Ang Mga Sangkot?

Nakasentro ang operasyon ng impeachment court sa tatlong pangunahing opisina:

✅ Office of the Senate Legal Counsel – Responsable sa paggawa ng subpoenas, writs, summons, at iba pang legal na dokumento. Hawak din nito ang mga ebidensyang ipapasa sa korte.

✅ Office of the Deputy Secretary for Legislation – Tagapamahala ng transcripts at journals ng impeachment trial, pati na rin sa pagproseso ng official documents at resolusyon ng impeachment court.

✅ Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms – Tiniyak na mahigpit ang seguridad at kaayusan sa impeachment court. Responsable rin sa paglilingkod ng legal na dokumento at pagpapanatili ng disiplina sa Senado.
