Nanawagan si Davao del Norte 1st District Rep Pantaleon Alvarez sa Kongreso na suportahan ang House Bill No. 4998 o “An Act Instituting Absolute Divorce and Dissolution of Marriage in the Philippines” sa hearing ng Committee on Population and Family Relations.
“We, legislators, panel of experts, support groups from civil society, and the many broken hearts out there (and in this committee hearing), can pave the road towards a more humanitarian way out of a wrong mistake. And there is a clamor to get this job done,” ani Alvarez sa isang pahayag.
“People should be given a chance to correct wrong choices. And, upon closing that chapter and learning its lessons, they should be allowed to once again journey off and find a partner with whom they are truly compatible with; the kind who will really be a witness and companion to their life, in sickness and in health, till death do them part,” dagdag ng mambabatas.
