Idiniin ni Deputy Speaker at Pampanga 3rd District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales na ang pagtatayo ng pangatlong viaduct na tulay sa North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) ay makakatulong sa pagpapanatili ng koneksyon ng North Luzon sa Metro Manila.

“The new bridge will give us the assurance that North Luzon will remain connected to Metro Manila whatever happens to the old spans,” aniya sa isang pahayag.

Naglabas ng Conditional Notice to Proceed ang Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) sa NLEX Corporation para simulan ang pagtatayo ng ikatlong tulay kahit na sinusuri pa rin ang mga pagbabago sa orihinal na disenyo. Mayroon P6 billion na inilaan para sa 47-year-old bridges na kasalukuyang na-retrofit. 

Nakipagpulong kamakailan si Gonzales sa Department of Public Works and Highways, TRB, at NLEX Corporation para kumbinsihin sila na makipag-ugnayan at siguraduhin ang pagtatayo ng ikatlong tulay habang ginagamit ang mga orihinal na tulay.

Binanggit niya na habang ang dalawang tulay sa Candaba swamps ay matagal nang nakatayo, maaaring maapektuhan ng malakas na lindol o pagkaluma ang integridad ng istruktura.

Sakop ng tulay ang Pulilan sa Bulacan, at Candaba at Apalit sa Pampanga.

“Though these bridges are not part of my district, my constituents and the people of Pampanga are among the many stakeholders who benefit from the continued operation of these viaducts, so I take it upon myself to work hard to see this project bear fruit,” pahayag ni Gonzales.

Plano ng NLEX Corporation na tapusin ang pagtatayo ng bagong tulay sa katapusan ng susunod na taon.
