Napa-”sana all” si Senador Grace Poe sa suhestiyon ng Department of Transportation na pansamantalang discount sa pamasahe sa ilang mga ruta lamang sa bansa kapalit ang libreng sakay sa EDSA Bus Carousel.

“In the rollout of the discount, we say ‘sana all’ — covering all PUV (public utility vehicles) routes nationwide,” aniya.

Pahayag ni Poe na dapat gamitin ng Transportation department ang kanilang resources para mapabuti ang sektor ng transportasyon at gawing prayoridad ang kalagayan ng mga mananakay. 

“The fare discount will help mitigate the expenses of our commuters saddled with the high cost of living,” aniya.

“Inflation spares no one. Every peso saved when accumulated can buy food for the family or help pay for other dues,” dagdag ng mambabatas.

Ang pansamantalang fare discount na ipapatupad ay kaparehas sa dating fare matrix bago ang pandemya, ayon sa memorandum na isinumite ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista kay Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III.

“Pre-pandemic fare matrix will be applied and the provisional fare increases implemented will be covered accordingly by the government,” aniya sa memorandum.

Kapag naipatupad ang memorandum, posibleng babalik ang P9 na pamasahe sa traditional jeepney mula sa kasalukuyang P12. Samantala, sa modern jeepney, posible namang ibabalik ang P11 na pamasahe mula sa kasalukuyang P14.

Ang posibleng pansamantalang discount sa pamasahe sa mga bus ay aabot ng P4 habang pinag-aaralan naman sa kasalukuyan ang ipapatupad na discount fare para sa UV Express.
