Umapela si Senador Grace Poe sa publiko na magrehistro na ng kanilang subscriber identity module (SIM) card ilang araw bago ang April 26 deadline. 

“We urge the public to give the SIM Registration law one final push as the deadline to register approaches,” aniya sa isang pahayag.

“Let’s spread the word that all must enlist their SIM for their protection and peace of mind,” dagdag ni Poe.

Idiniin ng mambabatas na sapat ang sistema para siguraduhin ang proteksyon ng datos ng mga Pilipino. 

“The government and telcos should go all out to encourage our countrymen to register. This should be matched with a fortified infrastructure to handle the gush of transactions from those who will sign up for their SIM,” aniya. 

Ayon sa National Telecommunications Commission, 47.84 porsyento ng mga SIM card ang kasalukuyang rehistrado na katumbas ng 80,372,656 na na user. 

Inanunsyo ng Department of Information and Communications Technology na walang extension para sa SIM registration sa kabila ng panawagan ng ilang telecommunications companies na magbigay ng extension para sa mga hindi pa rehistrado. 

Ang mga hindi rehistradong SIM ay madedeactivate sa Abril 26 sa ilalim ng Republic Act 11934 o ang SIM Registration Law.
