The shear line affecting the country will bring scattered rain showers over Mindanao, the weather bureau said Monday.
In its daily weather advisory issued at 4 a.m. the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao and flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains.
“We do not see a low pressure area inside PAR. Shear line is currently affecting Mindanao,” PAGASA weather forecaster Samuel Duran said.
He said the northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon and the Visayas.
Light rains will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, while the rest of the country will have isolated light rains.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the entire archipelago.
Strong to gale-force winds associated with the surge of the northeast monsoon will prevail over the eastern seaboard of Mindanao and the eastern seaboard of the Visayas.
PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. (PNA)Â
