Panahon na para managot si Vice President Sara Duterte sa mga pangbabatikos ng kanyang pamilya kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, ayon kay Manila Rep. Joel R. Chua. 

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni niya na magpakita sana ng pagiging disente si Duterte sa pamamagitan ng pagbibitiw sa kanyang posisyon sa Department of Education (DepEd). 

“Nearly two years after assumption to the Office of the Vice President, it is time for accountability for VP Sara Duterte and the Duterte family. The Vice President should show some decency by resigning from her DepEd post at the very least.” 

Nagpahayag din ng pagkabahala si Chua na sa kabila ng mga hamong ito, patuloy na tinatamasa ng Bise Presidente ang mga pribilehiyo ng kanyang opisina nang hindi direktang tinutugunan ang mga isyung ito.

“Her family unleashed a barrage of insults and attacks directly to the President and yet she does nothing and is still enjoying the perks of being part of the official family.” 

Isa pa sa mga pangunahing batikos niya ay ang diumano ay pananahimik ni Duterte sa mga usapin tungkol sa pambansang soberanya, partikular sa konteksto ng West Philippine Sea at Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). 

Binanggit ng mambabatas ang mga insidente ng pagharang sa barko at mga agresibong aksyon laban sa mga mangingisdang Pilipino, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), at National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (Namria), na nangangailangan ng mas paninindigan mula kay Duterte.

“VP Duterte has been woefully silent as our sovereignty and national patrimony in the West Philippine Sea and EEZ have been challenged with ship blockades and aggressive maneuvers against our fisherfolk, Coast Guard, BFAR, and Namria.”

Pinuna rin ni niya ang “Catch-Up Fridays” sa mga paaralan at sinabing hindi ito epektibo at pag-aaksaya lang ng oras. Ikinatwiran ni Chua na ang patuloy na pag-asa sa mga module at online classes ay hindi sumasalamin sa pamumuno sa DepEd, kung saan nagsisilbi si Duterte bilang secretary.

“She cannot have the best of both worlds by being a fence sitter while her family and their allies challenge the authority and mandate of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr while having little to show for in terms of substantive results at the Department of Education, where she is Secretary,” pagtatapos niya.
