SINO ANG MAS MATINO? Mga Mambabatas Kumasa Sa Hamon Ni VP Sara!

Tanggap ng ilang mambabatas sa House of Representative ang hamon ni Vice President Sara Duterte na sumailalim sa drug at psychiatric tests, pero may kondisyon: dapat tumestigo muna siya Sara sa imbestigasyon ng Kamara tungkol sa umano’y maling paggamit ng pondo ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd). 

Ayon kay House Assistant Majority Leader at Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun, bukas silang magpa-test, pero nararapat din umano na magpakita ng transparency ang bise sa mga alegasyon ng maling paggamit ng pondo.

“I am prepared to take these tests, and I am sure my colleagues are as well. However, the public deserves the same level of transparency when it comes to the use of public funds, and this can only happen if Vice President Duterte agrees to testify,” aniya.

Bumuhos ang mga reaksyon mula sa mga mambabatas matapos ang press conference ni Duterte noong Oktubre 18, kung saan inatake niya ang ilang miyembro ng First Family. 

Ayon kay La Union 1st District Rep. Paolo Ortega, dapat patas ang laban, at ang lahat ng public servants ay dapat sumailalim sa parehong pamantayan ng transparency.

Dagdag pa niya, kung bumagsak sa drug test, may kaparusahan dapat, at kung mali ang paggamit ng pondo ng bayan ay dapat managot din.

Dagdag ni Lanao del Sur 1st District Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, handa silang magpa-test sa mga neutral na eksperto sa lalong madaling panahon. 

“We’re ready for these tests. Let’s schedule it within the next few days. But more than that, we challenge the Vice President to step forward and answer the people’s questions about her office’s budget use. The real test of leadership is accountability and we hope she’s ready for that,” aniya.

Sinang-ayunan din ito ng House Minority Leader na si Rep. Jil Bongalon, na binigyang-diin ang legal na kahihinatnan ng sinumang opisyal na bumagsak sa drug test, base sa Dangerous Drugs Act. Sina Deputy Majority Leader Migs Nograles at Davao Oriental 2nd District Rep. Cheeno Almario ay nagpahayag din ng kanilang kahandaan na magpa-test.

Matatandaang hinamon ni Duterte ang mga mambabatas na magpasuri din matapos manawagan ang mga ito na sumailalim siya sa neuro-psychiatric exam o mental health evaluation matapos ng mga kontrobersyal niyang pahayag laban sa Marcos administration kamakailan.

“So we call on the Philippine Medical Association, the Philippine Psychiatric Society… to set the guidelines para sa amin lahat… Lahat ng botante mag-demand ng drug test sa ating mga congressman candidates kasi unstable din sila…,” aniya.
