The southwest monsoon (habagat) affecting the western section of Luzon, and thunderstorms in other areas will bring rains across the country, the weather bureau said Monday.
“Almost all parts of the country will experience rains, especially in the afternoon or evening,” Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Palawan, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro will have scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. PAGASA forecast flash floods or landslides in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
“The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy, then cloudy in the afternoon and due to high chances of rains caused by thunderstorms,” Aurelio said.
Up to 32 °C temperature is forecast in Metro Manila, Tuguegarao and Legazpi; up to 31 °C in Laoag and Kalayaan Islands.
The Visayas and Mindanao will also be partly cloudy, but cloudy in the afternoon also due to high chances of rains caused by thunderstorms, Aurelio said.
The temperature in Cebu may reach up to 33 °C; up to 32 °C in Iloilo, Tacloban and Davao.
Aurelio said no low pressure area (LPA) or weather disturbance was seen inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Moderate winds and moderate seas will prevail over extreme northern and the western section of Luzon.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)Â
