Beneficiaries of the houses are families who were left without anything to return to—their houses, belongings, and even their livelihood, destroyed after heavy rains brought by Super Typhoon Rolly triggered the flow of lahar and big rocks from the nearby Mayon Volcano. The housing initiative aims to help those who lived in danger zones as they start over, this time in safer homes. In keeping with the bayanihan spirit, the residents are also part of efforts to construct the houses in the relocation site, which is provided by the local government of Guinobatan.
