Vice President Leni Robredo acknowledged and expressed her gratitude towards her supporters who continue to encourage her to run for the Presidential race in the 2022 elections. She also thanked them for the ribbons and posters hanging outside of her office in Quezon City.

In a video statement on Friday, September 24, Robredo said she is aware of her supporters’ call for her to run, saying that she sees and hears them. “Naririnig ko kayo, nakikita ko ang nakikita ninyo, at karamay ako sa frustration pati sa pangarap ninyo para sa bansa,” she said.

In the same statement, Robredo answered jokingly on some loose talk that she is already tired and afraid of losing in the election.

“Tanungin ko kayo ngayon, mukha ba akong pagod? Mukha ba akong natatakot? Mukha ba akong kinakabahan?” the Vice President said, addressing her critics.

Robredo explained that she is aware of the deadline and the time progressing,”mangyayari ang dapat mangyari.” While still undecided, she reminded her supporters that when it comes to the topic of election, she wants to make sure that her goals are aligned with the common goal  to put an end to the root of sufferings and death of many people.  She knows that it is her duty to speak with possible individuals for support, pray earnestly, and exhaust all possible avenues.

The VP said she wants “to present the best chances for better governance come 2022. Muli, salamat sa pag-unawa, salamat sa encouragement, salamat sa tiwala, at salamat sa pagmamahal sa ating bansa,” she ended.

The filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for the 2022 elections is on October 1 to 8, 2021.
