Vice President Leni Robredo led the awarding for local chief executives who finished the Kaya Natin Good Governance Fellows – Mayor’s Fellowship Program, in a simple ceremony held at the Quezon City Reception House on Friday, January 10, 2020.

Prior to the awarding, the panel—led by VP Leni, along with Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership Executive Director Amie Hernandez and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Country Director Wolfgang Heinze—listened to the progress report of the mayors in the establishment of people’s councils in their respective areas.

Among those who graduated from the fellowship program were Mayor Joseph Ascutia of Labo, Camarines Norte; Mayor Denise Bernos- Bragas of Danglas, Abra; Mayor Ronilo Caspe of Cabatuan, Iloilo; Mayor Florida Esteban of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija; Mayor Liza Evangelista of Sibagat, Agusan del Sur; Mayor Roland Evardone of Arteche, Eastern Samar; Mayor Mariano Martinez of San Remigio, Cebu; Mayor Antolin Oreta III of Malabon City; Mayor Rex Tanjuatco of Tanay, Rizal; and Mayor Herminigildo Velasco of San Gabriel, La Union.
