The Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) nominated Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. for the 2022 Presidential race during the live broadcast of the KBL national convention this morning.

In the national convention, KBL’s Atty. Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon said that Marcos is the strongest candidate and was highly favored by party members as their representative to the Presidential bid.

“Sa totoo lang, BBM now is the strongest candidate, this is a fact,”  Atty. Gadon said. 

In a video statement, Marcos thanked the KBL party for nominating him. Although he has not stated any official acceptance to the nomination, he said he wants to continue the ideals, dreams and visions of his late father for the country.  

“I thank them (KBL) for the expression of support and trust they have bestowed upon me. I don’t know that you can interpret it as an acceptance,” Marcos stated. 

In a separate media forum, Marcos said that he is already in the final stages of deciding which national post he will run for. “Ang final decision sa paano gagawin, malapit na talaga. Dahan-dahan nabubuo ang ating mga plano because a national candidacy is a different kind of candidacy. I will answer you when the time comes. You cannot rush these things,” he stated. 

Meanwhile, Gadon reassured that even if BBM decides to side with other parties in accepting the nomination, there will be no issue as they will continue to support him. “Kung saka- sakali man na ang ideklara ni BBM na kanyang partido ay ang Nacionalista party, walang problema sa amin yon. Hindi kami magkakaroon ng problema diyan sapagkat patuloy kaming magbubuklod-buklod upang isulong ang kandidatura ni Bongbong Marcos,” he ended.
